Projects

✧.* Bubbles

The Bubbles series is a group of wheel-thrown ceramics that utilize a whimsical pattern to portray the feelings of childhood wonder.

✧.* Cycles

Cycles is a series of acrylic paintings representing the cyclical nature of life and death. The female forms are presented alongside mushrooms- as the human forms decay, the foliage is able to flourish.

✧.* Urns

These are urns I created for myself during my first semester of college. The first represents the death of my childhood, now being an adult. The second, partially opened, is for my adult life.

✧.* Ziggy

This is a multimedia portrait of my wonderful cat, Ziggy. It is made with charcoal, a white gel pen, and various alcohol markers.

✧.* Miscellaneous Ceramics

Rainbow Cup

This was an experiment for combining raw clay with matte underglaze and colorful glossy glazes into one cohesive design.

Yokai Majolica

This is a majolica earthenware vessel covered in designs meant to resemble yokai. Yokai are beings and creatures in Japanese folklore/tales/mythos.

✧.* Let Them Eat Cake

This group of paintings is a section of my final project from my painting class. These were the jumping off point for my current artistic focus.

✧.* Cardboard Skin Cake

This is a cake that I made to look like skin stretched and stitched around muscles and veins. The entire piece is made using corrugated cardboard and hot glue.

✧.* Saccharine

This piece is a trio of cakes containing various body parts. The cakes are interactive and viewers are invited to open and close them in order to see their grotesque insides.

✧.* Glaze Experiments
✧.* Eww.. Is that skin?

Of course it is!

I love making ceramics, or any medium, look like it could be living (or dead).

✧.* Senior Exhibition

This piece is a  combination of all of the skills I have honed throughout my years as a college student, while also being a representation of my imaginative and creative nature.

I wanted to showcase my favorite things: horror and decorative maximalism while also exemplifying the concept of juxtaposition between sickly and sweet.

I am so extremely proud of the work I was able to accomplish to make this piece this semester. I would not have been able to do it without the support of my favorite people- my friends and family. This project consumed me for sixteen weeks and I would not have made it through without their encouragement and feedback.
